Clement is the CoFounder and Chief Architect of Wavefront, a high-performance streaming analytics platform that supports 3D observability. Wavefront had raised a total 65.5M from Sequoia, SHV and Tenaya Capital, and acquired by VMware for $375M in 2017. Clement currently serves as Principal Engineer/VP at VMware.
Clement is also an active angel investor, interested in B2B/B2C startups with focus in data, distributed computing, AI/ML, infrastructure problems.

Clement serves as Principal Engineer/VP at VMware in the Modern Applications Platform Business Unit (MAPBU). He was a co-founder and Chief Architect at Wavefront which began in January 2013 with venture funding from Sequoia, SHV and Tenaya Capital, and was acquired by VMware (USD 375M) in May of 2017.
At VMware, Clement still codes every day, is involved in sales, strategy, hirings, and evangelizes observability techniques. You can find his talks on YouTube on product and the observability space.
Prior, Clement was a Staff Engineer/TL at Google in the Risk Engineering team.
Clement was born and raised in Hong Kong and attended Rice University in Houston, Texas. Clement is also a mentor at FoundersHK.
